The surprise results kept on coming at the Daly College & SquashXtreme SRFI Open.
In the men’s draw, Egypt’s Mohamed Gohar fought back from the brink to secure a five-game win over compatriot Khaled Labib. It was the No.4 seed led by two games, but Gohar won the third 11-8 to bring himself back into the contest. Both the fourth and fifth games went to tie-breaks, and although Labib had his opportunities, Gohar won both by 12-10 scorelines to advance.
Seif Ashraf secured straight games wins over fellow Egyptian Abdelaziz Hegazy, the No.6 seed.

The last tournament of 2022 on the Challenger Tour will be the Daly College & SquashXtreme SRFI Open, which beings on Sunday in Indore, India. The Challenger 10 level will take place at the Daly College and will feature both a men’s and women’s draw over the five-day tournament.
Five Egyptians in the 8 top seeds: Menna Hamed, Lojayn Gohary, Ingy Hammouda, Amina El Rihany and Habiba Hossam will all be seeded for the competition. The entirety of the women’s draw is presented by the two nations.
Meanwhile, another Egyptian, in former World No.14 Zahed Salem, will be the top seed in the men’s draw. He will be joined by compatriots Aly Hussein, Khaled Labib and Abdelaziz Hegazy in the top eight seeds for the tournament.
