CIB Farida Mohamed is one of the higher-ranked players on the PSA one to watch list, but a first Challenger 30 level title was a big part of her season, as she jumped up 20 places in the World Rankings to move into the top 16 for the first time in her career to end the 2021-2022 campaign.

That victory came in her last outing of the season, as she defeated Belgium’s Tinne Gilis to win the RMCLUB Women’s Open Presented by Expression Networks at the RM Club in Grand Bay, Mauritius. The young Egyptian was the No.3 seed for the tournament, and defeating the top two seeds, in Gilis and Frenchwoman Melissa Alves en route to the victory.

Back at the start of the season, Mohamed made it into the quarter finals of a Platinum level tournament for the first time in her career, as she made the last eight at the CIB Egyptian Open. She followed that up with another quarter final, this time at the Gold level CIB Squash Open Black Ball that December.

A semi-final result also came at the Bronze level Carol Weymuller Open prior to the victory in Mauritius, with that win in her final event of the season pushing her ranking into the world’s top 16 for the first time.

She has gained 20 places in the last twelve months, to now sit at World No.15, and is certainly one to watch out for in the future.
