PSA Rankings: Nour back to No1, Ali keeps the lead

Nour El Sherbini has overtaken compatriot Nouran Gohar to return to World No.1 following the release of this week’s PSA Women’s World Rankings.

The 27-year-old returns to World No.1 for the first time since May after beating Gohar to win the inaugural Paris Squash event on Saturday.

This is the fourth time that El Sherbini has gone to World No.1, with the seven-time World Champion celebrating the 212th week of her career atop the rankings.

Gohar drops to No.2, with Hania El Hammamy (No.3), Joelle King (No.4) and Amanda Sobhy completing the top five.

Elsewhere in the top 20, Salma Hany (No.12) and Farida Mohamed (No.17) are on the rise.

Quite incredibly, both Men and Women’s number-one positions were decided in that single event!

Ali Farag has extended his lead at the summit of the men’s rankings ahead of Diego Elias after beating the Peruvian in the men’s Paris Squash title decider on Saturday to make it 14 successive weeks at World No.1.

Mohamed ElShorbagy (No.3), Mostafa Asal (No.4) and Paul Coll take the final places in the top five.
