One of the most skilful players on the tour Youssef Ibrahim has moved back inside the World’s top 20 for the first time since 2022 this month after putting together strong performances this season.

The talented Egyptian defeated World No.7 Mazen Hesham at the Grasshopper Cup and came very close to scoring another victory over Mohamed Elshorbagy at the QTerminals Qatar Classic and Singapore Squash Open.

Ibrahim isn’t placing too much importance on being back inside the top 20 and explains that performances are the true indicator of his current level:

“I don’t think I’m playing my best squash at the minute,” says Ibrahim.

“I’ve got a lot of room for improvement but I think I am getting closer to that top level. Top 20 sounds good, I’m playing more events now because I’m not injured but I don’t focus too much on my ranking as an indictor, more on the matches I’m playing. I think I’m getting closer to the top guys and I think my best squash is yet to come…
