Sadness: Khaled Bichara passed away

Orascom Development’s CEO, Khaled Bichara, has sadly passed away at the age of 48. The world of squash would like to send its deepest condolences to Khaled’s family and friends following a fatal car crash on Friday.

Khaled and Orascom Development have shown incredible support to professional squash and have sponsored the El Gouna International for the past decade, while Orascom was the title sponsor of the 2016 PSA Women’s World Championship.

PSA players will also remember Khaled from his inspiring talk at the PSA Foundation’s post-squash career event during the 2018 El Gouna International. Khaled spoke about his own journey and encouraged the players to always go the extra mile to make a difference. He was kind, friendly and willing to give a helping hand to all of the attendees.

Khaled is survived by his wife, Marianne, and two children, Sherif and Galal.

“I would like to express my condolences to Khaled’s family on behalf of everyone associated with the PSA,” said PSA Chief Executive Alex Gough.“We are incredibly grateful for the support of Khaled and Orascom Development over the past decade, and his passing will be a big loss to the squash community.”
